At the temporary point of sale for specialties on Baitai West Road白塔西路与皮市街交叉口, lotus flowers, lotus seed heads and various seasonal fruits form the most graceful early market in Suzhou. Most of the lotus flowers and lotus seed heads are from Taihu Lake and priced 10 yuan for four to five ones.
Grandmas paddling"three flowers"on streets and alleyways is a familiar scene for Suzhou in summer. "Three flowers" refer to jasmines, white magnolia flowers and sour orange flowers. Tiger Hill Scenic Area虎丘山风景名胜区will hold a cultural festival themed on the "three flowers" from tomorrow, featuring performances, tours and fairs.

"Yellow in June," or Liu Yue Huang, is the young crab who just finishes its third molting. Male crabs are preferred since they have tender, juicy meat and rich roe.
Eels are in their best quality at this time of year. Stewed Shredded Eel is a famous summer dish of Su cuisine.
For Suzhou-style noodle restaurants,three shrimps noodles and Fengzhen pork noodlesare indispensable specials on their summer menu. The toppings of three shrimps noodles contain shrimp meat, shrimp roe and shrimp brain, which explains the origin of its name.
The pork in Fengzhen pork noodles is usually stewed for three to four hours, while the base soup is concocted from stewed pork bones, eel bones and fermented rice wine.
The unique Suzhou-style mung bean soupconsists of numerous materials including mung beans, glutinous rice, red and green shredded orange peel, white gourd sugar, candied jujubes, raisins and peppermint water. A cup of cold mung bean soup will refresh you at once.
Honey peachesare the iconic summer fruit of Suzhou. The most tasteful local peaches are those in Fenghuang Town, Zhangjiagang, which have over 20 varieties. The Beiyao honey peaches grown in Tongan Town, Suzhou New District are also popular among customers.

Some 30 million lights will decorate Dayang Mountain大阳山国家森林公园starting tomorrow and bring visitors a visual feast. Installations in the shapes of elks, horses and other animals will animate the whole area.
